August 10th Weekly Report & Fishing Forecast

By August 10, 2021August 23rd, 2021No Comments
The near-coastal bite continues to be pretty good for us this week. We are concentrating on fishing live baits around bait pods with in a few miles of the beaches. King mackerel, shark, and tarpon are the most prevalent of the species we are catching right now. Live pogies, pilchards, or croakers have been the best baits for us to get these fish to bite on. Cobia and kingfish are possible on the offshore reefs and wrecks, but this action has been a little inconsistent with the king moving to the beaches to spawn over the past week. The spawning activity should slow now that we are past the new moon and these fish should become much more patternable over the next few weeks.

If you’re looking to catch snook the bite is getting better and should get really good as we get closer to the opening of the season on the first of September. Anglers wanting to book a 5-hour near-coastal snook trip need to get with us soon because our available dates are booking up quickly.

Captain Justin and I look forward to seeing you all again very soon. Let’s get out there and catch your next memory!
