Captain Jim Ross and his son, Captain Justin, have been fishing the flats and inshore waters of the east coast of Florida for most of their lives. They have a passion for fishing for redfish, snook, black drum and other great inshore species of fish. They may take you to the headwaters of the Indian River near Titusville, the backwaters of the Mosquito Lagoon, the Coquina and limestone ledges of Rockledge, or the sandy flats and creeks of Sebastian Inlet, in the various Lagoon waters east of Orlando, Florida. The inshore and flats fishing here is very diverse and can be absolutely amazing in different areas throughout the year.
Experience shallow water Florida fishing at it’s best.
Flats fishing is an iconic fishing experience here in Florida. It takes place on shallow flats that typically have grassy bottoms and dotted with sandy potholes. This makes these areas an ideal location for our three most sought after game fish — redfish, snook, and trout. However, we can also have shots at catching black drum, flounder, and several other great species.
We typically use live bait fish and shrimp but if you are an avid angler, you can have plenty of shots at fish using artificial lures. Let us know before your trip if you would like to give lure fishing a shot.
Flats and lagoon backwater charters start at $300. If you have any questions about this type of fishing trip please call us at 321-636-3728. Captain Jim and Justin look forward to taking you fishing!
