January 21st, 2020: Capt. Justin Ross’ Fishing Report

By January 21, 2020January 22nd, 2020No Comments

Fishing this week has been surprisingly good with all of the wind that we’ve had. The cold temperatures seem to be pushing the fish into the deeper channels and waterways around the Indian River. We’ve been doing really good on shrimp for the black drum and redfish.  WE are rigging these on a small jig head or split shot and 2/0 circle hook.  Saltwater Assassin 4-inch sea shad tails have been slaying the trout. The northern minnow and magic grass color lures have been doing the best in the color water temps we are experiencing this week. Fishing along the mangroves and other wind protected areas has been working best for these fish. We’ve been catching black drum, and few  snook on the edges of residential canals and drop off throughout the Cocoa Beach and Titusville areas of the Indian River Lagoon as well.  As the water temperatures continue to drop this winter the fishing will only get better.  Give us a call (321-636-3728) or book with us online to get on board and have some fun with us.
