We had a great mixed bag of species over the past few weeks. Mangrove snapper, ladyfish, snook, speckled trout, and redfish are daily catches in the lagoons right now. Live shrimp, croakers, fingerling mullet and pinfish are getting the job done on most days. Saltwater Assassin 4-inch sea shad arethe top producing lure for these fish.
King and spanish mackerel, red snapper, snook, tarpon and shark are the most prevalent species being caught right now. Live pogies and pilchards on a wire stinger rig are working for the mackerel. The other species are striking free lined baits or weighted baits dropped down onto the reefs and wrecks. This action should continue through the next few weeks.
