Snook action will continue to be good for our near-coastal trips through the end of the 2023 season (December 14th). We’ve had some really good action for these fish on live baits during the warmer daytime periods that we’ve had in the early to mid-November time frame. As we transition into the winter months, we can often continue to catch snook around the waters of Port Canaveral on shrimp and small baitfish. In the backwaters of the lagoons, usually near mangrove edges, we often find snook that are sunning themselves. These fish tend to start eating around 11 to noon. Snook open back up for harvest on February 1st for those of you who would like to invite one of the legal-size home for dinner.
